June Currently!

Hey there! I am here to link-up (finally) with the amazing Farley and the Currently link-up!

First, I would like to encourage you to stop by her blog and make a donation to Wimberley Adoption Group and Rescue (WAG).  The donations will help all of the animals that have been swept away from their families during the floods. The smallest donations can make the largest difference! To read more, head over to Farley's blog! (Click image to donate)

All right, on to the link-up!

Listening-

I find Married at First Sight to be EXTREMELY interesting. It is a welcome distraction from all of the wedding chaos!

Loving-

I am so happy to be on Summer Break!!! I get to spend time outside, no papers to grade and I am not cooped up in my classroom!!

Thinking-

I should probably knock a few things off of my wedding checklist, but I really just want to take a little more time to enjoy the peace and quiet. Maybe in an hour?!?! We will see.

Wanting-

A SUPER LONG massage would be amazing right now! I carry all of my stress in my shoulders which has been triggering tension headaches the past few weeks.  I also break out in hives when I stress out, so relieving this stress would be great. I don't want to be a hive-y bride!

Needing-

I should definitely squeeze a serious workout in today.  I think Karena and Katrina from Tone it Up! are calling my name! #sweatingforthewedding

Summer Lovin'-

My wedding is 9 days away!! I just posted a Teacher-Bride post over at The Primary Pack with my reflections on the wedding process thus far! Feel free to check it out.

I also need to start thinking about outfits to wear at Disney for our honeymoon!!! EEKK any suggestions?!!

This is a super short post, but lordy my mind is swamped!!

Be sure to follow me on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook for more wedding updates!
Who knows...maybe I will periscope the day of my wedding!! :)

Thanks for stoppin' by!

May Currently!

Hey there! Long time, no see!!!

I finally had a minute to catch up on my Currently posts with the awesome Farley!

Here is what I am up to:

Listening- It is a cloudy day where I am at, but the breeze coming through the windows is amazing! I love spring!

Loving- I am to the tail end of wedding planning (I meet with my wedding planner today) and I am so VERY VERY blessed to have so many amazing people in my life.  My future Husband is so supportive, my family loves me unconditionally and my friends have my back no matter what.  Good vibes all around, folks!!

Thinking- I need to pack! Between packing up my classroom and my apartment, I really need to start moving! I am having a hard time trying to figure out where to put everything in my new home or what my soon-to-be hubby could take now so we don't have to move it later...yikes. THEN...I am job hunting, so I don't know where I am going to move all of my classroom stuff too!! AHH!! I think I need a storage unit...or two!

Wanting- I really just need someone to come tell me what to pack up and what I will need.  This person is usually my mother, but between wedding planning and my father being in Dubai for the whole month (yowza!) of may she has a lot on her plate. I just need a swift kick in the backside to get this packing going.

Needing- The seasons changing means that my eyes and nose are running like a leaky faucet. It's super attractive, folks. My students kept a running tally yesterday of how many times I sneezed...it was at 20 before lunch time...whoops! I guess it's a good way to practice tallying..?

Summer!- Oh my, it can't be here soon enough.
Yes=I get married in June! I am so nervous/excited/scared!
Hope= We are going to Disney on our honeymoon!!! I really love Eeyore and I hope I get to meet him!
Dream= My Fiancé lives in a townhouse with two roommates and our fur child.  Our dog at the carpet in our living room...not just a little...ALOT! Our tack boards are exposed and we can pull the carpet (and what is left of the pad) half way across the room. I really am dreaming of a day when we can afford to buy new carpet...or may wood flooring :)

Well, that's it folks! I am off to meet with my wedding planner...if you're lucky I'll post some sneak peek photos on Instagram!!

Thanks for stoppin' by!

March Currently & Giveaway!!

Hey there! I am here to link up with Farley for her monthly Currently link up!
WOOHOO!

Listening- My fiancé and I just finished watching Big Hero 6 (it's amazing)...and now we are trying to find something to watch. I want to watch Chicago, but he doesn't seem to keen on that.

Loving- This week is my last week of school before I start a glorious 2 week break! I just have to make it through two days of Parent/Teacher Conferences and a PD day and I'm free! I also have a blog post to come up with for the Primary Pack on the 3rd...got any ideas or questions for me about conferences?! I would love to answer them!

Thinking- I have an AWESOME Giveaway running this week! Check out this homemade bracelet and enter for a chance to win one of your own!

Wanting- My fiancé and I attempted to try sorting through the things in my apartment to see what he could start taking to his house, since that is where we will live after we get married.  Needless to say, we failed miserably. I can't part with my stuff! I really need someone who can help go through and ease me into letting go of some of my things.  I know I can't keep it all, but UGH!!

Needing- I have been using MyFitness Pal to kick my awful eating habits. I am hoping to work out at least 10 of the 14 days that I have off in the next few weeks. I also have a large pile of laundry that I need to wash so I can get those workouts in. I think I need a snow day where I can walk around my apartment in my jammies and get my "normal people clothes" clean.

Spring Break Plans- I am looking forward to wedding planning, bridal showers, sleeping in and relaxing with this that I love!

I hope you have a lovely week! Don't forget to enter my giveaway below!

January Currently!

Hey there! Happy New Year!!

I have decided to avoid all the cleaning I have to do from our NYE party last night by blogging! WOOHOO!! I am joining Farley for her monthly currently link-up...you should too!

Let's get rollin'

Listening- We are hard up for entertainment at my house and often my fiancé takes it upon himself to do strange things like chase our dog, try and make our dog sing, try to get our dog to run a route...ya know...the normal stuff.  Currently, my fiancé is covered in a blanket and is chasing Kyle around the living room...he (my fiancé ) just ran into the closet door, maybe he should of taken the blanket off of his head...HAHAHAH!!!!  So, Kyle is barking loudly at him...which is a nice change from the constant football jargon that is leaking from our television.

Loving- I am so excited that 2015 is finally here!! This year will be a year filled with weddings, including my own! I have had over a year to plan my wedding (which I have loved having such a long time), but I have a feeling that from here on out everything will be a blur.  Only 162 days until I day "I do"....not that I'm counting or anything.

Thinking- I really need to get my brain and bathroom break schedule back on track for school. Anybody else struggle with potty breaks after having a holiday break? I always will be sitting a guided reading and come to the scary realization that my body hasn't realized we no longer have our bathroom freedom! Plus...I am having a really hard time wrapping my brain around IEP meetings, PD, etc. when we get back.  It is just so hard to do when we have had such a lovely break! Maybe I'll do that stuff tomorrow..?......NAH!

Wanting- We had our friends over last night to ring in the New Year with us and we have some cleaning to do.  We have a lot of dishes to clean and I HATE doing dishes! I have extremely dry hands, so the more I have my hands in water, (which is a lot when I'm at school) the more my hands will crack and split. It's really not fun. Plus, I hate touching other people's leftover, mushy food that has been left on plates. ICK!

Needing- To get my butt to the gym! I have been running up and down the stairs at my fiancé's house for workouts and trying to avoid all of the NYE resolution-ers that linger at the YMCA. I finally got back to my Yoga studio..which was amazing, but now I need to get back to a consistent schedule of working out. That means I will have to brave the packed YMCA and prowl for a stair-stepper, treadmill or elliptical with the rest of them.  Bring it on!

Yes- I will put my gym membership to good use and begin shrinking my lovely lady lumps! Sweatin' for the Weddin'!

Maybe- I should probably start downsizing and moving some things to my fiance's house. I have a really hard time getting rid of things, so maybe if I start now I will have some of it taken care of by June. Probably not though.

I wish- I really wish I was able to travel more. I always dream of taking vacations to see the world and then when I look up the cost of doing those things I panic and back out. I hope someday I will stop backing out and will actually travel more. I mean, it's only money, right?

Well, there ya have it folks! I hope you all have a blessed New Year! Stay tuned for my upcoming Class Dojo tutorial right here or over at The Primary Pack! Go ahead and click that follow button and I'll see you back here soon!

December Currently!

Hey there! I'm here to link-up with Farley for her December Currently! Oh my...DECEMBER?!?! what?! For real?! My goodness...I can't believe it's December!

Anyways...Let's get rollin' with this month's currently!

Listening- My fiancé came to spend the night with me since he has the day off tomorrow and he found "Dogs with Jobs" on Netflix.  It's making me want to save all the dogs and take them home!

Loving- I love this time of year! Not because of the bone chilling cold, but because I get to buy gifts for people! If I had unlimited funds I would totally buy gifts for people on a day to day basis...ya know, like Oprah! Who doesn't want to be Oprah?!

Thinking- I am so very blessed.  I have an amazing man that I get to marry in June. I have a loving family that is always there for me. I have brilliant friends who are only a phone call away "just to chat" AND I have all of YOU! Yes, YOU guys! When I started this whole blog/creating journey I never thought I would "meet" so many amazing people....I really thought I would never find anyone who wanted to read what I had to say! I'm just some girl from Nebraska with a twisted sense of humor...who wants to read that?!...apparently you guys do (bless your souls)...so thank you for reading my blog, liking the millions of pictures I take of my dog on Instagram and giving me a boost of confidence when I need it. You all are truly a blessing!

Wanting- To be healthy! This has multiple meanings for me right now. 1) I have recently come to the conclusion that "being skinny" doesn't mean that I am healthy.  This whole wedding diet really had me down in the dumps for awhile...and I was fearing I would never look the way I wanted to look in my wedding dress, but I've come to the conclusion that that isn't the case at all. If I take care of myself and eat healthy foods (that don't taste like cardboard) I can look awesome on my wedding day no matter what! I may not be SKINNY, but honey...I've got curves and I'm gonna rock 'em!

2) It seems as though every break I have I end up getting this really gross mucus bomb of a cold. The past three days I have been talking like a man, coughing up large mucus balls (those really pretty green ones) and clearing the throat constantly like the old guy in the back of church on Sundays. I'm sounding really hot right now folks.  I still need to get my flu shot, but with my body fighting this mucus war right now I don't know if I should go get it...it might take me down for the count ( I always feel a bit awful after I get my flu shot...am I the only one?)

Needing- Mucinex...I think you can figure out why I would be needing this right now! I won't paint any more snot filled pictures for you :)

Giving- Some love!

I want you to know (yes, you reading this post right now) that I am so very thankful for you! I am humbled to have you as a colleague in this glorious profession and I hope you know that you are loved. You make a difference each and every day ...even on those really bad days...you are making a difference. So, in the upcoming weeks when you want to fight the alarm and burrow deeper into those warm sheets, remember that there are children in your school that need YOU. They need your warm hugs, your bright smile, your words of encouragement and someone in their life that they know will care for them. It will be hard, but you can do it!

Phew...I hope that little pep talk helped! I have to remind myself of those things each and everyday...especially during the month of December...I have quite a few kiddos who lives get kind of rough around this time of year.

Now...I also wanted to share this amazing song that I am obsessed with...enjoy a few minutes of pure bliss!

ahhhhh....isn't that beautiful?! Oh, I could listen to it forever!

Well, I hope you enjoyed your stop by my little ol' blog and I hope that you click that "follow this blog" button so you can keep coming by! I like having you here :) ...and not in a creepy way...like in a  "oh, hey there friend I like your company" kind of way.

ummm...ya...soo...

I hope you have a great week!

November Currently!!

Hey there! I am here to link up, once again, with Farley for her November Currently!

Let's get rollin'!

Listening- I have been watching Bridesmaids (i took over the TV after the Husker game) waiting to blog! Yes, I am lame…deal with it! I love this movie! There are so many wonderful quotes!

Loving- OOO!! I am so excited to share this one! I have been asked to be apart of a brilliant collaborative blog with some amazing bloggers! When I first started blogging I dreamed of collaborating with other bloggers! It is truly a dream come true! I love where blogging has taken me! click the button below to check out this blog!

I will be posting there on Monday and would love for you to help me out! Tweet @megboxofcrayons with #askmegan with any questions you would like me to answer, I will pick 10 and answer them in my post on The Primary Pack!

Thinking- Well, it is a little hard to think with the loud grumbles coming from my stomach. Okay…so I am being a bit dramatic, but I am hungry…no, I'm HANGRY.

My fiancé works some weird hours and tonight we had planned to have a sushi date night! I love going on dates with him, but man, waiting until he gets off work sometimes can be very difficult. I have been snacking on almonds and grapes, ya know, the healthy stuff that goes with my wedding diet.  I can't wait for our sushi date…if you're lucky I'll even post some pictures later!

Wanting- I feel like the leaves have changed and blown off the trees WAY too fast this year! Driving home from yoga today I didn't see any bright orange and red leaves anymore, instead I found sad, naked tree branches bending in the wind.  Naked trees make me sad…

Needing- To stick to my wedding diet. I have been doing a pretty good job of this, but it can be a real feat some days. I have thought about taping pictures of my wedding dress to my fridge, but I'm afraid it would backfire and I would eat everything in sight simply because there are those moments where you think you will never "look the way you want".  I'll keep on trucking and hopefully in this next month I will really nail it before my first fitting!

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!

Reading- I have been working on reading one of my all time faves, "To Kill a Mockingbird". I have not made it very far, but I hope to have it finished before my wedding. That's a pretty lofty goal considering my wedding is in June.

Well folks, that's all I have for ya! Stay tuned for my post on The Primary Pack on Monday! Don't forget to tweet me your questions!

Have a wonderful weekend!

October Currently with a Trick AND a Treat!

Hey there! I am so excited that fall is finally here which also means that it's time to link up with Farley for here October Currently!

Let's get rollin'…

Listening- I am laid up on the couch thanks to my cold and I have been obsessed with Scandal…so I'm taking a break and watching How I Met Your Mother     …love it!

Loving- The fall weather! The fresh cool air, the cozy sweaters and, of course, EVERYTHING PUMPKIN SPICE! This is one happy white girl!
Thinking- My fall break is technically 2 weeks long, but I am only taking one, because I will be teaching an enrichment group of first and second graders about "Farm to Table".  I'm looking for fun, hands-on, project-based learning ideas for this and I have a million ideas running around. I have never done PBL lessons, so I'm super nervous on setting it up the right way. Do you have any helpful tips or hints?! I'm all ears!
Wanting- I have been fighting a stubborn cold the entire time I have been on break. Today, it has really knocked me on my butt…so my butt is staying on the couch. I am hoping that lots of naps and laying low will help me make it through my next week of teaching. **fingers crossed**
Needing- To sleep…yeah, remember all those ideas I told you were racing through my head? They have also been keeping me up (along with cold meds)…so, again, today will hopefully be filled with naps and cuddles from Kyle (my dog…not my fiancé).
Trick or Treat- I'm doing BOTH! How can I just choose one!?

Here is my TRICK!

Nowadays we all have nifty smart phones and we also have students leaving our classroom at random times. I could not keep all of my students times straight, so I decided to set an alarm for each student or groups of students to help us all remember that they need to go! My kiddos love it because I let them choose a sound from my phone and I love it because it keeps us all on track!

So, give it a try and let me know how it goes!

And here is your TREAT!

Now, I do not have any "October" themed products simply because  I cannot use them in my classroom.  At my school we have a very high population of families that do not recognize birthdays, halloween, Christmas and quite a few other celebrations. So, I apologize for not having a halloween-ish item to share with you. Instead I have put the following items on sale until MONDAY (and if you go to my store you might find a surprise!) !!

Well folks, I think it's about time for me to take a nap and kick this cold! I hope you have a wonderful enjoyed your short stay here at my blog!

Thanks for stoppin' by!

September Currently!

Hey there! I'm back and this month I am not only linking up with the lovely Farley for her Currently link-up…I am also hosting this link up! I am so excited!

Let's get this party rollin'!

Listening- My fiancé is currently flipping back and forth between "Don't be Tardy" and "In Time"…I am not upset with either choice :)

Loving- This weekend marked exactly one year since my fiancé asked me to marry him! Needless to say, this weekend has been filled with Husker football, Family and friends and I could not be happier. Yes, we have had a super long engagement, but it have really been able to enjoy this wedding planning process. I can't wait for June!

Thinking- Tonight I completed my very first Fantasy football draft.  I have watched "the boys" do it for years and figured that if you can't beat them you might as well join them. So, I set-up two of my own teams (with the help of my patient fiancé ) and now I will have more of a reason to pay attention when football is on :)

Wanting- This long weekend has been wonderful and I definitely wouldn't be upset to extend just one more day…it's wishful thinking on my part.

Needing- I have a mountain of laundry that seems to be growing at an alarming rate.  Laundry is so easy to do and I still loathe doing it! UGH! Maybe I'll get it done tomorrow …maybe.

3 Trips- Oh I love this one! I have never been to Vegas and would love to go, but haven't had the chance. I started school the week of the TPT conference so it just didn't work out. I have dreamed of going to Greece on day…the water is just so blue! Hawaii…who doesn't want to go to Hawaii!

Well, there ya have it folks!  I hope you enjoyed your stop on my little ole' blog and I hope to see you back here soon! If you want to keep up with me go ahead and follow my blog and on Instagram!

Thanks for stoppin' by!

August Currently Link up….better late than never!

Hey there!  I am so happy to have found some time to get back to my lovely little blog! I realized today that I had totally missed the August currently with Farley, so I am doing it now! Yes, I know I'm a little late, but I think it's better late that never!

Let's get this rollin'!

Listening- I am currently cuddled up on the couch at my Fiancé's house listening to the beautiful sounds of Batman in the background. I love Batman, but there are only so many times I can watch the movie.

Loving- I am so happy to finally have made it back to my little blog! I teach year round, so I started school in the middle of July (crazy, I know). Needless to say, I think things are finally getting back into a routine which means more blogging! YAY!

Thinking- I have a MILLION things I would like to get done before school on Monday, with very little motivation to do it right now. I'm hoping that my motivation shows up a little later tonight…that would be wonderful.

Wanting- A Massage sounds lovely right now. I don't know about you, but I carry all of my stress between my shoulders.  It is not uncommon to have tension headaches starting on Wednesday and continuing to the beginning of yoga on Saturdays. I have a goal to keep my stress under control this year, because it turns into mean, ugly, red, swollen hives if I let it go too long! Here's to keeping stress under control this year!

Needing- An "Adult Beverage" might do the trick in finding my motivation tonight…or maybe not, who knows.  I think I should at least give it a shot, right?!

1st day you and kids- I teach year round, so I went back to school mid-July. This next week we will actually have completed our first month of school! WOOHOO! My firsties are finally getting into the swing of things and it is super exciting to see!

OHHH!! One more thing! I HAVE SOME VERY EXCITING NEWS COMING TO MY ITTY BITTY BLOG VERY SOON! Be sure to follow me in Instagram to see sneak peeks!

I hope you have a great weekend!

July Currently!

Hey there! Happy July 1st!! Today I am linking up with the amazing Farley for her Currently link up! Oh how I have missed my little blog!

Let's get going!

Listening- I am in love with this song! I love Lennon and Maisy and this song is just too cute! Seriously, if you haven't heard it you need to go listen to it RIGHT NOW! Here…I'll even give you the link! It just makes me so happy :)

Loving- The weather here in Nebraska today is absolutely wonderful! It is a beautiful 70 some degrees with a warm summer breeze. I will definitely be spending some time outside today!

Thinking- I really need to go start setting up my classroom. I have about 2 more weeks off before I am back at it! Yes, it may seem crazy, but I love my kiddos! So, keep an eye out for new creations and classroom photos!

Wanting- I think we all wish that summer could just stay a little longer, if not forever! I am going to miss eating lunch like a normal human and being able to use the restroom whenever I like…ahhh it's the simple things, folks.

Needing- I really need to find a way to keep my wedding and school stuff in my apartment while still having room to live! This next year is going to be crazy and I can't wait! My apartment, however, looks like a small tornado of lamination and wedding magazines ran through it. Whoops!

4th plans- I really don't like to plan my weekend or holidays like the fourth. I feel like my weekday life is filled with plenty of organization, so I tend to fly by the seat of my pants on my weekends. I am planning on hanging with the people and animals I love dearly and lighting things on fire! WOOHOO!

Well folks, I am off to watch USA Soccer on an lovely outdoor patio! You better believe I will be rocking my American Flag scarf and shouting random soccer banter! Follow me on Instagram to keep up with me when I'm not at my computer!

I hope you have a wonderful week!

Currently JUNE! WOOHOO!

Hey there! I'm so happy you are here! Today, I am linking up with the lovely Farley for the amazing June Currently!! YAY!!! I also have some other fun surprise's for you…so be sure to read ALL the way to the end of this post…I don't want you to miss out on any of the fun!

Let's get rollin'…

Listening- I am currently staying at my Fiancé's house for the next two weeks and he is watching Husker baseball on ESPN. Nothin' says summer like a lil' baseball! Go Big Red!!

Loving- My awesome Fiancé! Earlier this week I had a crazy allergic reaction where I was lookin' a lot like the Michelin Man's sister and covered in itchy hives.  In short, I was lookin' REAL good. Now, I am on quite the concoction of med's and he has been taking care of me. I am very lucky to have such an awesome future husband.

Thinking- My birthday is on June 11th and my awesome family and friends have asked me to come up with a list of things I want or would like to do for my birthday.  I am pretty excited but, I am pretty easy to please. All I want is good food and fun conversation with my family and friends around. Now…how can I make that happen? hmmm…

Wanting- Well, my wedding is a year away and I really need to get my butt in gear when it comes to getting fit! I started doing bootcamps with my future husband and then this lovely allergic reaction occurred. Sadly, my swollen feet and aching joints are preventing me from doing much of anything…I really hope this passes quick so I can get moving!

Needing- My joints to stop aching and the swelling in my hands and feet to go away!  It's super frustrating when I can't open bottles of water or the lids to my pills on my own.  I also look like my great grandmother when I walk around…it's really cool. I will be happy when this all goes away!

Summer bucket list!-
1. My goal is to lose 5 pounds before the beginning of my school year. This may be a little ambitious considering that I start school in July, but hey, at least I have goals!
2. I love laying out and getting a little sun-kissed. My theory is tan fat looks better than white fat. So, I hope to get my bronze on in the next few weeks!
3. I LOVE the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo! The Omaha Zoo is awesome and is nationally ranked! I hope I can go to the Zoo on my birthday and check out the Sky-fari (a ski lift that takes you OVER animal exhibits and runs from the back of the Zoo to the front!) I think the Zoo may be one of my favorite places to go…if you want to see what our Zoo looks like, click here!

Well, that does it for my Currently link up…but I still have some exciting news to share with you!

May Currently!

Hey there! Happy Wednesday or should I say HAPPY MAY! Holy cow! This year seems to have just flown by...well, except for those SUPER long weeks where I constantly thought it was the Tuesday and it turned out to be Monday, but still it has just zoomed right on by!

If you follow my Instagram account you have seen my lovely stack of lamination that never seems to shrink. I have been working like crazy to prep centers and things for next year, which may explain my absence from my cute lil' blog! I promise I'm not giving up...just working on my classroom To-do list (which never seems to get shorter...hmm strange how that works).

Well folks, on this lovely Wednesday I will be partaking in the magical CURRENTLY linky party!  This magnificent link-up was created by the amazing Farley, who I absolutely love (sorry if that seems strange, but she is pretty amaze-a-tastic)!

Let's get this party rollin'...

Listening- I have my iTunes radio playing while I have my T.V. on mute (don't ask me why). I love Katy Perry...I may or may not have been dancing and singing along at the top of my lungs :).

Loving- I am SO excited to see Friday!  This week was a little rough with our MAP testing. My firsties will be testing out of their little minds in these last few weeks, I think we are all ready for a break from reviewing.

Thinking- I sprinted out of Jazzercise tonight and up 3 flights of stairs to my apartment when I saw Farley's post about the linky! I have been waiting for it all day and I just was so excited! Needless to say, I haven't showered and I kind of stink. Be happy you aren't sitting next to me right now...ha!

Wanting- I found my wedding shoes and ordered them on Sunday! I was hoping they would be here today, but sadly they are not. I know my wedding is still a year away but,  I just want to wear them around to vacuum in...is that too much to ask?!

Needing- If you follow my Instagram account (which I think you should since I use is CONSTANTLY) you have noticed my LARGE pile of lamination that never seems to shrink.  I am needing a break from cutting things out and will gladly pay you in jokes and beverages :)! Any takers?!

SUUUU-PRISE!- I am tagging KinderMolly's TPT store. She is an adorable creator that has some AH-DOR-ABLE products. Be sure to check her out!
That's not all!!!!!!

You will not want to miss out on my latest giveaway! Enter for the chance to win my End of the Year Extravaganza Pack to finish off your school year with a KA-POW!

Well folks, that's all I have for you tonight! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! There will be no Five for Friday post tomorrow, but you can follow my Instagram to keep up with me!

Thanks for stoppin' by!

Five for Friday! 4/11/14

YAY! You have made it through another week successfully! I'm glad to see you here and could not be more honored that you are kicking your weekend off with me.

So, let's get this thing rollin'!

Go Huskers! This weekend I will be sporting my red in honor of Nebraska's Spring Game. Now, I know that it isn't a HUGE deal, but it is a sign! The Spring Game means that warmer weather is heading our way, grills at tailgates will be sizzling with Fairbury hot-dogs and football games will be found on every TV channel.  It may just be one of my FAVORITE times of the year! GO BIG RED!

Earlier this week I decided to try something new. I have heard and seen a lot about Farley and her "currently" linky party. In fact, Farley was one of the FIRST blogs I ever followed...crazy, right?! So, I decided to take a chance and join in on one of the largest link-ups I have ever seen!

You can click on the image to see my "Currently" post! It was very exciting and a little scary to jump into such a large link-up, but I will definitely be doing it again in the future! Okay...so I know you may think that it isn't a big deal that I joined in a link up. I just thought it was really cool that I ( a little first grade teacher from Nebraska) was able to join in on a blog that I have followed since my first days of teaching! It was awesome!

Okay....so this has NOTHING to do with education, but I just can't resist. I found this little chevron number at a half-price store and I just couldn't leave it there! I love patterns (gray chevron being one of my faves) and I have been looking for a little something to cute-ify my apartment.  As you can see, it is the perfect place to drop everything I have in my arms as I come barreling in through the door. I absolutely love it...now if only I could organize the rest of my apartment....NAH!

If you follow me on Instagram at all, you would have seen this post earlier in the week.

My students know from day one that I have 3 favorite animals: dogs, cows and zebras.  One of my kiddos "borrowed" this project from her little brother so she could give it to me as a gift!  This adorable little cow is hanging on the bulletin board right behind my desk...every time I look at it I think of her little story that goes with it! AH...I love my firsties!

My newest product is up and running! My kiddos struggle with skip counting so I whipped up this center pack that makes skip counting a little more hands-on. This pack focuses on counting by: 2's, 3's, 5's, and 10's. Each group of skip-counting cards also follows a pattern with the clip art images this will help the kiddos figure out the correct order AND it gives us educator folk the ability to simply glance over from our small group or needy student and see if they are on the right track! Click the image to hop over to my TPT store to grab yourself your very own copy!

Thanks for hanging with me for my Five for Friday. I hope you enjoyed your stop here on my little blog! I hope you have a wonderful weekend filled with warm weather and relaxing...maybe a little productive if you need to be :).

Thanks for stoppin' by!

A little late to the party...

Hey there! Happy Monday! I'm glad you are here to join me on my VERY first 'Currently' link up! Now, this may be one of my shorter posts until I get the hang of doing these kinds of linky parties, but it is still just as exciting!

Since I am fairly new to this world of educational blogging, I thought it was time for me to venture out and join a link-up that I have followed consistently for the past few years.  I am very nervous and honored to be partaking in a linky party on one of the very first blogs I EVER found my first year of teaching. *tear, sniffle, sniffle*

So, here goes nothing...

Listening- I have watched HIMYM on and off for the past few years. Recently, I had not been watching it consistently and was super bummed when I heard all of the amazing reactions to the finale. So, I have decided to pick it back up and thanks to Netflix I can get all caught up!

Loving- I live in Nebraska and we are used to having some crazy weather, however, I am sick and tired of this cold and dreary stuff that keeps on lingering. I literally jumped out of my bed this morning when I heard the 10-day forecast for this week and saw that 80 was in our future! Thank goodness!

Thinking- Every Tuesday night for the past 2 1/2 months I have been taking a class that our District offers/requires us to take in our first 3 years of being in the District.  Tomorrow is my last class *YAY!*, but I am avoiding my homework...I figure I'll get there eventually.

Wanting- I recently started selling items on TPT and have had a blast creating products. I haven't had very many sales, but I still have set a very high goal for myself when sales actually do start happening. My goal is to purchase a new laptop... a Mac. I currently use a Dell that I used all through college and I think it is time for a change :).

Needing- I am in the process of planning my wedding for the summer of 2015. I know I have PLENTY of time to get everything organized, but I have been very focused on my physique.  I have been trying to eat healthier (key word is TRYING) and although I saw some results, I haven't seen great one's. I am hoping that with the warmer weather, a new Jazzercise membership and all the fresh fruit that soon will be out that I will be back on track to my ideal wedding bod! OW OW!

Hours and Last Day- Everyday my little one's come barreling down the hall to my classroom door at 7:55 and I send them home at 3:20.  My last day with kiddos will be on May 21st with an early out and a work day on the 22nd to get everything in my room packed up so we can speed clean our school before we return in July :).

Well, there ya have it! My very first contribution to the 'Currently' link-up! I hope you have a stupendous week and I will see you back here on Friday!
